A film about RED NOSES Palestine won the first place in the Youth Media Award on a national level
A student of Journalism and Media in Birzeit University, Nawal Abu Zeid, earned the first prize for her film on RNPS within the Youth Media Award organised by PYALARA.
Last Thursday, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in cooperation with PYALARA announced the results of the Youth Media Award for 2023. This came during a virtual meeting with the participation of Dr. Basri Saleh, Director-General of PYALARA, Hania Al-Bitar, a number of staff of the Ministry and PYALARA, media professors at Palestinian universities, members of the jury and students participating in the competition. This award is part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry and PYALARA serving the youth sector and students of higher education institutions, and the implementation of targeted activities in the field of information and information education
The film highlighted the role of our healthcare clowns in spreading humour and laughter among people in need of joy and their impact on target groups by filming a number of visits in coordination with RNPS staff.
RNPS considers this award to be an important step to highlight the importance of its work in society and the importance of supporting the healthcare clowning sector in Palestine. Since 2010, RNPS has been implementing its mission in the West Bank and Jerusalem through 26 of healthcare clowns, with their extensive experience in dealing with different groups and using appropriate tools that aim to spread humour and laughter to relieve the psychological stress.
RED NOSES Palestine (RNPS) is a subsidiary organisation of RED NOSES International (RNI) which is based in Vienna, Austria, and is the headquarters for the largest clown doctor group in the world. RNPS is an organisation utilising the art of clowning to bring humour and laughter to people in need of joy. For the past 13 years, RNPS has been making a difference for patients, families, and medical staff in many healthcare facilities in Palestine. RNPS empowers vulnerable audiences, such as children in hospitals, people in geriatric centres, patients in rehabilitation centres, youth with mental and multiple disabilities, and other marginalised groups.
